The Greater Utica Area is the proud and beloved hometown of the partners of Brindisi, Murad & Brindisi Pearlman. This is the area where they raised their families and created countless memories. During the spring of 2020, the community was shaken by COVID-19. Countless workers were displaced and required to stay home to flatten the curve for the health and welfare of the public. The only people left to keep the community safe were first responders and healthcare workers. As the virus worsened and the state of affairs seemed to sour, these heroes continued to risk their safety for their community.

The People’s Lawyer greatly values this amazing region and the people who make it their home. As a small token of their gratitude, they donated meals to hundreds of local first responders and healthcare workers. Giving back to the heroes that gave us hope during such an uncertain time was a small gesture in comparison to what these essential workers were doing for the Greater Utica Area.

The partners donated food to multiple local fire departments, including, the entire Utica Fire Department’s six different stations across the city, and delivered to them a favorite and classic Utica specialty, tomato pies, made by Danielle’s Catering Specialists on Mohawk Street, in Utica, NY.

The partners also donated food to multiple local police departments including, Whitesboro, Rome, Utica, New Hartford, and the Oneida County Sheriff, and delivered to them pizza and wings from Tony’s of Washington Mills Pizzeria & Sports Bar.

Our firefighters and police officers bravely serve the community every single day with little expectation of gratitude. The partners wanted to bring a bit of joy and lightheartedness into their arduous days during this novel pandemic.

Meals were also donated to our local healthcare workers who were working tirelessly, every day, on the front lines of this virus. The staff at St. Elizabeth Medical Center and Faxton-St. Luke’s Hospital put the health and safety of others before themselves day in and day out. Giving back to these essential healthcare workers in the Greater Utica Area and showing the community’s gratitude for their tireless efforts to fight COVID-19 was important to the partners.

When donating meals, the lawyers chose to support small businesses in the Greater Utica Area and purchase local to help restaurants that were also feeling the economic effects of COVID-19 as well.  Always supporting the people and small businesses in our community is important to the People’s Lawyer. The hard work and bravery that emerged from the essential workers in the Greater Utica Area during uncertain times was immense and inspiring – these essential workers became our lifeline! The People’s Lawyer is proud to do their part as we arise from this difficult time as a stronger community.
